when mitreing

thank you for the add i am currently building letters at 4ft high i am working of a drawing to help me my question is i have a 700mm gap of which i cut the lengh to 700mm i then mitred the piece then when i had finished the gap was not 700 mm should i have allowed for the mitre`s i am cutting 12mm wood thank you

Sorry Stevie It's probably me but I don't understand what you are doing. Building Letters? And 700mm gap - in what?
