Looking for UN-glued teak veneer roll.

Postby Spedley » Sat Nov 26, 2016 10:02 pm

I've scoured the usual sources but all I can find is pre-glued iron on veneer.

I'm looking for 50 metres of 50 mm wide teak veneer without glue. I wan't it to cover a dining table to match an existing one and it may have hot plates etc placed on it. Also, I find the hot-melt glue awkward to use when you have multiple strips together.

I can only find what Google has to offer which means I'm missing out on many suppliers which don't have websites or just aren't indexed. I also need it within a couple of weeks - so I can finish by Christmas.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Gave up in the end and bought an 8'x4' sheet of paper backed veneer. Glued it using the iron on PVA method giving great results. A bit expensive though.
I do understand now why it is hard to get unglued veneer, without some kind of backing very thin veneer tends to split and fall apart.

Where did you source it from in the end?

Sorry I didn't see your original post, Ostermanns would almost certainly been able to supply you with the veneer you wanted.
