wood and resin

i want to do a table, wany edged that ahs some holes in wood that i wantr to fill with clear resin, how would i sand it all down so the resin goes crystal clear again as i imagine a cutting compound for the resin would stain the wood, any idea

I would pick a resin that can be a coating as well as the filler, coat the lot in more more more than enough coats to fill pores and then on top of that to allow for polishing the flat majority, fill the remaining big cavities with a squeegee type thing, then a couple more coats over the top. Then the polishing stuff can't touch the pores.

All you have to do now is find a resin that that won't show telltale lines between the coats and is capable of filling deep holes also.

haha i like it, 1 star is good, thanks for your help, just got to spend a small fortune on resin and dive in i guess
