Bread machines

Postby daves » Fri Jan 23, 2009 9:46 pm

I recall from previous discussions that there are several users of bread machines on here.

Our cheap and cheerful model would appear to be on its last legs. It gets used every day, sometimes more than once, so we can't complain. Thing is, what to replace it with.

The only real criteria are that it bakes a large loaf and that it is a decent quality, given that it will get daily use.

If there is a model that doesn't leave a big hole in the bottom where the paddle goes, so much the better.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Panasonic is top of the pops I think. If you don't want the hole in the bottom you can just make dough in the machine, then hand make a loaf for the oven. It does all the hard work.

I bought the Panasonic SD255 Bread maker a few years back and it still works like a champ. Before I bought it I read multiple reviews of Panasonic bread makers, rate highly but I choose this model because it had a raisin dispenser. The raisin bread I make is absolutely delicious.
