Mushroom, leek & gruyere filo parcel with roast parsnips, roast potatoes, boiled potatoes, sprouts, carrots, swede, peas & cauliflower cheese.

With an Abbot ale starter & pudding, then a long nap afterwards

Now you're talking, i do like roast beef!

Ours was the following :

A small cup of butternut squash/chilli soup
Smoked salmon salad ( washed down with a Montravel sec 2003 made by a friend)
Tournedos Rossini, beef from our local butcher, foie gras from a local farm, with a gratin dauphinois and broccoli, washed down with a 2000 Haut Médoc.
Pud was deferred due to lack of capacity.

Do you raise other poultry too? We keep geese, muskovy ducks and chickens, the last two mainly for eggs though the odd one does go in the pot.

Tried Guinea fowl one season, but we couldn't stand the noise!

We also have Norfolk black turkey's(free range), large bloated American chicken's(ross cobb also free range), assorted breeds of egg laying chicken's, Guinea fowl(which are delicious), and Aylesbury duck. We have rare breed pork, the odd lamb/Hogget/mutton, and goat too.

Wow, that's quite a farm. We raised our own pigs for a few seasons, but for just 2 of us a pig is too big really. We also had milking goats.

How do you find time for woodwork?

Only takes an hour in the morning, the load is shared with my dad and two brothers. Its well worth it as we don't pay for food any more, or we trade with other farmers for the bits and pieces we don't have.
