Any dish washer experts ?

My Bosch sms4452 has stopped working . It started ok but stopped mid cycle . Its done this twice and now wont start at all . It was ten years old when i bought it second hand 15 years ago so dont really want the expense of spare parts given the price of a new one but if its something simple then it would be nice to fix .

Blocked pump or drain hose?

Nope no power showing at all . Its a bit old to have digital displays . Its got dials and an on off button

My 1st guess would have been a blocked something. Drain/filter ? pump

Hmmmmm a salad leaf had blocked the drain and then blown the fuse in the plug .

Most likely still the pump. Could be stuff backed up the pipes. Mines about 12 years old too and every time it stops I assume it's finally f**ked but its always the pump. Nails, coins, hair, bits of wood, all sorts.

If its 25 years old Jase I would suggest its probably reached the end of its service life

I agree Ed but if its something simple ( like it nearly was )
I think it may be the heating element as it fills with water but then stops just as its about to wash .

Blew the fuse on the switched spur this time . I'll try it on another cycle . I hope it works , i'm gagging for a cuppa .

It does clothes as well.
It's not very good with crockery - it all seems to get broken.

Hi,

They usually snap a wire where the door hinges, all that opening and closing. Wip the front off and check all the wires, you might need to pull them as sometimes the insulation holds them together, but they will stretch when pulled.

Have you checked the door switch? usualy a micro switch, very cheep.
Is there any noise when it stops? any lights on the machine?
