Frame Ledge & Brace Gate TGV infill

Hello Folks ,
I am just working out a design for a pair of gate I have been asked to make. Any comments good or bad welcome!
The TGV is 20mm thick & the the frame is 65mm thick. I have left a groove out were the tounge meets the stile, so just pretends there's one there

I am not sure that the braces look right, what you reckon?

Looks nice to me but I won'der if the diagonal braces should be the continuous pieces. Or maybe there should be halving joints for the cross overs. Which side gets the hinges?

A pair of braces 'Ashaped' would look better in my opinion. Keep the one on the left and flip tuther

Dave the hinges will go on the rails side & would be on the left.
Like the idea of the A shaped will give it a go.
