Buytl seepage from 8yr old glazing tapes..........

I know Its sounds like I need to visit my GP but I have a case of buytl seepage on some 8yr old South facing windows I made for a client. The window faces South and in the Summer when its hot the buytl tape I used at the time (no longer use it) seeps/oozies out on the inside of the window. I used it to bed the sealed units on.Its only on 1 window which is South facing and the other 6 windows are fine.It must be to do with the heat in the Summer as its only the South facing one thats affected.

Any ideas what I can use to hold it back?. I did wonder about using a single edged razor blade to trim off the excess and then caulk the gap between to unit and timber but not sure it will work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I no longer use and haven't done for a few years.

I'd get a bit of stiff wire and make a hook then gouge out about 10mm depth of buytl around the perimeter of the glass, then cap the gap with glazing silicone.

Cheers Mark, I did think of glazing silicone but only downside is it can't be painted over and the client is quite picky but will definately put that suggestion to them......They aren't blaming me as such as all the other windows are fine so I guess its just the hot weather on that one window.

The self same thing happened on my grans house years ago, all i did was run a stanley blade round an capped of with brown glazin silicone(they were hardwood). If you need to decorate cap iff as flush as you can then go over once dry with acrylic caulc.
