I've always fancied a low knob.

Discuss hand tools here, its quieter and less dusty than the other sections.

I've always fancied a low knob.

Picked up a nice old Stanley number 7 low knob.

Very dirty and rusty, but should clean up nicely.
Not that I really need another number 7, but for £28 I could not say no. :D

I only gave him that money on Friday. He didn't waste much time in spending it!

On a serious note may I take this opportunity to thank J-H for his sterling work helping me to lay loft decking last week. If any of you can give him work he comes highly recommended from me.

Almost all of my panes are low knobs, I prefer them..

Nice plane at a bagain price, well done for nabbing it!
One word of caution with the low knob planes, keep the knob screwed down tight, if it gets a bit loose while you're using it the Rosewood knobs are prone chipping at the base which is why they later added the cast raised ring reciever to prevent this.
