Portable edgebanders..........

I have a kitchen to make in the new year and I'm looking to buy an portable edgebander as I don't have the room for a static machine. I've looked at the Wagoma one and the Le-Matic BR500 Axminster tools. Having looked around a fair bit most of them look exactly the same but badged up, even the Felder one looks the same. I only do a couple of kicthens a year, few wardrobes and cupboards and mostly its windows,doors etc so I don't want to spend too much.

Any feedback would be good. Looking to edgeband 2-3mm ABS ,hotmelt .........

Cheers Steve, I've been looking at the Festool , looks like a lot of thought has gone into it. I have ordered the Festool Vaccum clamp which also looks really good. Where abouts are you Steve?...

I know someone who just used spray adhesive, edging and a lamello and it worked very very well. However the recent failings of spray adhesive I would be a fool to recommend - Merry Xmas.

I got the lematic one in may, i got the full set with trimmer and clamps. Ive used it quite a bit and am happy with it. Dont have anything to compare it with though but ive had no problems with it so far. Id say come an have a go but your a bit far off!

Cheers TJ, I think I know the one you have, the blue one thats sold as a complete kit with trimmer,suction clamps etc and it looked fine. They don't sell that one now ,just the BR300 and 500. Think I will bite the bullet and buy one, I don't do that much edgebanding so I can't warrant spnding too much..

Noticed you're in Cumbria, hope you haven't been affected by the weather? , feel so sorry of the people up there. Happy New Year mate and all the best for 2016.

Thanks leveller, i live on a fell so was ok but a lot of my family, friends and customers were badly flooded. We have a family farm with an old mill an the beck that feeds it rose 10 foot! needless to say their was a few foot of water downstairs!
Think mines the 500 in my set. Takes about 30 mins to warm up an you can easily control the glue flow and temperature and the speed of tape aswell. quite handy when your doing curved work aswell. I made a table to mount mine in so its easier when doing smaller pieces. I'm the same as you just half a dozen kitchens a year. Just a far better finish than iron on tape. Its quite surprising how much you do use it aswell.
