hi all new on here was wondering if I could increase the column size on a bench top DP USING SCAFFOLD TUBE IF ITS RIGHT DIAMETER

Welcome to the forum. In answer to your question, if the scaffold tube is the same diameter then it should work although as scaffold tube is galvanised the surface won't be smooth so take care in making sure the table is locked tightly in place especially if you're putting something heavy on it.

Scaffold tube is 1-29/32" diameter ( it is a historic thing) and that is going to be much smaller than anything but a toy pillar drill is going to need.
the wall thickness is a bit thin so will flex quite a lot.
