Paintable silicone sealant
Paintable silicone sealant
Can anyone recommend an external silicone which is paintable?
Re: Paintable silicone sealant
Not silicon but an exterior sealant. Acrylic.

No it's just f**king ace (apart from some bathroom specific crap I bought which has gone horribly yellow, at least I could paint it I suppose) and so much better than silicone.

Since I discovered CT1 I haven't used anything else. Brilliant stuff. Sticks to any surface, even if wet, and overpaintable, and doesn't shrink or go brittle with age. Not cheap at around £10 per tube, but well worth it.
Cheers, Roger

Been using Geocel decorators calk which can be used externally as well. Good stuff. Cheap as chips!

Unfortunately CT1 yellows.
Toolstation sell the everbuild puraflex 40 for £4.04. TBH I don't know if that yellows or not. Additionally I have only ever seen it in white.
BTW, both products need to be primed with water based paint first, otherwise the oilbased paint will remain tacky for days.
