Hi folks

Hope everybody is keeping busy.

I've been spraying with Morrells now, and have a couple of queries.

1) Using pre-cat primer, I am finding it a bit frustrating as I don't seem to be able to get as good a coverage as I can with the water based top coat (see point 2). I've tried thinning between 5-10%, and it helps a bit. The viscosity seems runnier than the water based top coat, so i'm struggling to understand why it's not as good coverage. No orange peel. I've tried all sorts of combination of more thinning, more air volume etc. Probably just my ineptitude!

2) Water based top coat - f**king brilliant coverage when sprayed. BUT. If there is any touching up to be done on site, it doesn't seem to like a brush! Quite streaky finish which is very frustrating. Anybody else have this experience? Maybe just a rogue batch (it's my first).

I'm using a Fuji mini-mite 4 with both gravity and suction guns with a 1.3mm needle.

Any pointers appreciated.

The pre-cat base coat has a lot of solids that settles in the can, it needs a really good stirrrrrrr, so it's not so thin ( watery)
What are you spraying onto ?

To touch up any paint need a really good quality brush, like a sable bristle, if it a large flat area it really needs a re spray

If I remember right Morrells recommend a 1.8 tip for pretty much everything

The fella who sprayed an in frame kitchen we revamped used an airbrush to touch in hear and there.

I think the needle is your problem as MJ mentioned, we use a 2.0 for primer.
