tormek or sheppach

hi to all, can anyone out there tell me if u can use tormek jigs on other wet stone grinders ie sheppach tiger or record or Clarke :?: I know tormek are good but to be honest they are way outa my price range :oops:

Have you looked at the worksharp ? Slightly different method of sharpening but faster than the wet ones

The worksharp is good but really only good for bevel edge chisels or plane blades. I don't think it is intended for turning tools.

Well, they do have a slotted disc for turning tools but I've not tried mine. I like the Worksharp...does what it says on the tin and no water sloshing about getting the place all manky.

Well Ben, if you go for the worksharp then you are welcome to my slotted disc and abrasives as I'll never use them and until tnaf mentioned it I'd forgotten what they were for!
