New lathe, any advice

Not got a lot to play with, only around £250 but have seen this "Axminster Hobby Series AWVSL900 Woodturning Lathe" so top end of what i have to play with, but there products seem to be quite good, any advice??

It is a generic Chinese-made lathe that is being sold under various brands in different markets. As such it doesn't seem to be among the worst of its kind. It has been around for at least 10 years and it might be possible to get hold of a second hand one.
