So here I am trying to score brownie points with my most difficult to please client (the wife)

Has been badgering me for a little while to create a shelving unit for under the stairs, I quickly wrote some measurements a while ago for said unit.

1700 x 838 x 500mm

Knowing that this needed to sit behind the door frame, I had to make it to the doorframe internal width, and I could basically slide it in and around.

Imagine my horror when I made said unit, and the width I had written down was wall to wall.

Just a massive coincidence that the wall width is also the same width as a standard interior door!!

But I did use cabinet vision so will show you drawing versus unit made.

If anyone is interested in the time the process took from drawing to making of the unit.

Drawing 15 minutes
Machining 18minutes
Assembly 42minutes (I have included the clearing of the CNC within this figure)

So complete process from start to finish.

1 hour and 15 minutes.

Well to be fair - I did change that as I wanted an integrated plinth rather than a separate plinth as shown in the render.

Cab vision is brilliant I must admit.

Just out of interest, how long do you think that would take you Alan from start to finish? its 1700 high by 838 wide by 500 deep. all 18mm MDF.

Surely irrelevant, the question should be "how much profit could you make on it".

Anyway, I reckon it would take me about 1hr 14minutes, maybe quicker if I was allowed to use powertools rather than hand tools.

However, the Mrs would tell me to send it back anyway as it's not painted
