Festool Extractors?

I'm thinking of buying a Festool Midi Dust Extractor,Has anyone on the Forum used one of these,if so,what is their opinion of it?Also is it possible to connect other branded tools ie,Sanders ,Jigsaws,to this extractor?if so,is there a kit with different sized nozzles that will link up the tools to the extractor easily,Could you let me know ,if there is such a product on the market?I believe Ruthlands Tools might have something along this line.

We have a few of the midi's. Good for the workshop. Not had any real issue with fitting to other branded tools. We have swopped most of the power leads from other brand tools, to the festool outlet. Saves you having to keep swopping to power lead about.

I've got a midi and it's good for taking on site and the Festool hose fits most other power tools that I've tried with it. If you are going to use it for trade use then I suggest you invest in a long life bag as it will save you money in the long term.

I would recommend the midi, its a good little extractor and the rubber end on the hose does a good job o fitting lot of different brands of tools and is nice a grippy so it doesn't always fall off. One thing i would say is that it is probably better suited to sanding than tools that generate a lot of mass of shavings (like a router for example) as the bag capacity is pretty limited, so you will be emptying it a lot otherwise. I haven't got the long life bag, i just undo the bottom of the standard bags to empty them, then wrap them round a bit of dowel and bulldog clip them shut. I saw it online somewhere, so credit for the idea goes to them, but it works pretty well.
