Just some pics of a new box sash made by a good friend of mine. He's busy making the sashes as we speak. I've got to re-cover the poly tunnel after the windy winter.


there is a WIP thread on the other side this is after he fell off the ladder.

I'm responsible for the lime mortar pointing. Much better than cement on these old properties.

I love these old sash windows, I've made a few and repaired a lot over the years. They will last 100 years or more if taken care of, I doubt you will see any Upvc windows lasting any where near half that!

The joinery in the box is really practical. The joinery on the sash is bombproof. It strikes me as odd that you don't see many timber window manufacturers knocking on your door on a Sunday afternoon. Yet the PVC mob are in your face constantly. Stack it high, sell it cheap.
